Trent LaLand

Trent LaLand is a former Marine, combat veteran of Operation Desert Storm and veteran of Operation Eastern Exit. On January 2, 1991 while serving in the Marine Corp, his unit was diverted from Operation Desert Shield and sent on a daring rescue mission into the heart of Africa. Trent was a member of a heavily armed 60 man ground rescue force combined of 51 Marines and 9 Navy Seals from Seal Team 8 that was inserted into the besieged U.S. Embassy Mogadishu Somalia, on January 5, 1991, that resulted in the rescue of 281 men, women, and children from over 30 countries. The mission codenamed Operation Eastern Exit was executed on a very short notice. He shares the story in his book titled “Night Mission To Mogadishu”. In addition to his book Trent has now created a trailer for his first featured documentary about the rescue mission titled “U.S. Embassy Under Siege”. Trent is a licensed Minister and member of New Beginnings Fellowship Church. Trent resides in Indianapolis Indiana as the place he calls home.
