Nick Toplis was born and raised in Indianapolis Indiana, where he attended North Central High School on the Northwest side of town. Nick was a solid member on North Central varsity football team, where he played nose guard on defense and right tackle on offense. Nick was a force to be reckoned with on the field because of his size and strength. Nick received a scholarship to play football at Purdue University but did not accept it due to him blowing out his knee his senior year in High School.
Nick’s parents were his rock and anchor, that voice of reason. Nick’s parents would attend his football games when they could and he would spend time with his father going fishing on the weekends. Nick graduated from North Central High School in June of 2012.
In July of 2018, things took a turn for the worse in Nick’s life, his mother passed away from kidney failure and it took an emotional toll on Nick. On August 17, 2018, just six weeks later tragedy would strike again, when Nick’s father passed away unexpectantly from complications from Hernia surgery. Nick stated that it broke him to see his father, the strongest man he knew, lying on that hospital bed fighting a losing battle as his organs begin to fell.
Both of Nick’s parents passed away just shy of his 25th birthday and immediately after the loss of both parents, Nick went into a deep dark hole. Nick became depressed and even contemplated suicide, he started doing drugs and things that he was not proud of doing and he knew that his parents would not be proud of either. This was Nick’s way of escaping reality but he knew within himself that his parents would want him to stay focus and move forward in life.
Nick found himself fighting a up hill battle and facing many challenges, but he found another anchor, a voice of reasoning and that was his fiancée Jessica that encouraged and uplifted him. Nick began to see light at the end of a dark hole and a shift in his life for the better. In 2021, Nick landed a job at RT. Moore as their tool room specialist in which he loves his job.
Nick’s advice to everyone, never give up, never throw in the towel, never isolate yourself in the midst of adversity and don’t fight your battles alone. There is always another voice of reasoning, whether it may be through a close friend, relative, fiancée, counseling services or a Church group.

Nick far right with his mother, father, and girlfriend
