Gerron Carpet Cleaning & Floor Care Services
Reggie Gerron was born and raised in Louisville Kentucky on the South side of the city. Reggie moved to Indianapolis Indiana in February of 2012 where he landed a job at Navistar and later moved on to work at Precision Strip in Anderson Indiana working in their shipping Dept. In 2015 Reggie was inspired by a former co-worker to go to school in Florida for a two-week course at Color Crown to learn stamped concrete overlay, spray textures and placing epoxy and coating on floors. Reggie successfully completed the course and after receiving his certification, he returned back to Indianapolis to work his full- time job at Precision Strip. It was after work and on the weekends when Reggie would work side jobs doing flooring, swimming pools, home drive ways, and concrete overlay. But in April of 2016, Reggie received some devastating news during his routine physical when his primary care physician noticed a lump on his neck. Reggie’s physician had a biopsy performed on the lump and it came back positive. Reggie was diagnosed with a rare form of thyroid cancer (Medullary Thyroid Cancer) which only 2% of people a year are diagnosed with this type of rare cancer.
In May of 2016, Reggie went into surgery to have the cancer surgically removed but during surgery, the surgeons discovered more cancer behind his vocal cords that were not detected on the scans. Although the surgery took longer than anticipated, the surgeons successfully removed all the cancer. Reggie’s voice was affected by the surgery which required injection treatments into his vocal cords to get his voice level back up.
After Reggie fully recovered and was cancer free, he went back to work his full-time job at Precision Strip and work his business on the side. In 2017, Reggie officially became an LLC and named his business Gerron Carpet Cleaning & Floor Care Services which includes residential and corporate carpet cleaning. Reggie built up a good base of clients but wrestled with the decision when to quit his job at Precision Strip and launch his business full time. In July of 2017, Reggie who was encouraged by his then fiancé Kaela, stepped out on faith, quit his full-time job and launched his business full time. Reggie clients have been, Advanced Auto Parts, Dollar Tree, Fed Ex, Indianapolis Fire Dept Training Center, Martin University, local churches, and residential customers just to name a few of his clients.
Reggie and his fiance Kaela made it official and were happily married on May 25th, 2018 in their hometown of Louisville Kentucky. Kaela would move to Indianapolis Indiana to be with her husband and support his business that was doing very well. But four years later after they were married, Reggie once again received devastating news that the cancer had returned on the other side of his neck. Reggie would have to go through another surgery to remove the cancer. The second surgery was successful and Reggie is now receiving treatment at the Cancer Center of America in Chicago IL, where his team of doctors have a positive outlook in treating the cancer.
Reggie stated that within a five-year period his faith was challenged beginning in 2016 with his cancer diagnosis, losing his brother in August of 2019, his mother passed away in 2020, and then his father unexpectedly passed away in February of 2022. Reggie said that his faith in God, his lovely wife Kaela, his children, grandchildren and his Church family are the reason and main factors that have kept him anchored through his adversity and trials.
Reggie works out at the gym on a regular basis and enjoys bicycling outdoors, playing cornhole, pickleball with his family and close friends. Reggie’s favorite scripture is Proverbs 3 verses 5-6, Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight
